Re: Merge the servers?
I suppose you speak about non repeatable quests, otherwise the players instead of grinding najabs for hours, would grind same quests for hours. No they could be repeated, but there wouldn't be just this one. You could have dozens of different ones with different requirements in different locations ...

Re: Merge the servers?
I don't get why people are so opposed to quests, but are in favor of hours of mindless repetition. Lets take Great Najabs in the Void for example - one of the most popular hunting spots. As it stands now, people will kill najabs for literally dozens if not hundreds of hours on end to reach 250. This ...

Re: Merge the servers?
Gilgamesh, I think your ideas about more sand in the box are awesome - the exact types of things that could be tested on a test server to make sure work right. But very few newcomers even think about the suggestions you made, more outposts buildings and optional extra storage space - they have ...

Re: Merge the servers?
What are you still doing here, Thom, if Ryzom can't attract and RETAIN players, after 5 years? Ryzom is like my first girlfriend. It was the first MMO I ever played, and regardless of how she really looks or performs, she holds a special place in my heart. :P But i've hardly been "retained" - of ...

Re: Merge the servers?
I guess each design philosophy has its own pros and cons. Some smaller MMO's have survived for many years catering to niche markets though. I agree that we don't need to attract millions of players to be successful. But a company that goes through multiple owners and bankruptcy is hardly producing ...

Re: Merge the servers?
I think i've lead the topic way off target.

Re: Merge the servers?
All Ryzom needs to do is be in the black and maintain a stable population. If Horizons/Istaria can do that without compromising itself, so can Ryzom. Which history has shown us it can't do if things remain as they have. If compromising means changing for the better, then I will compromise all day ...

Re: Merge the servers?
Because that is what has been agreed on by this community for years. I refer to my aforementioned statement and true principle - if we continue to do what we've always done, we will get the same results. Just because we've done it forever, doesn't make it correct. Gear rewards diminish the ...

Re: Merge the servers?
Money talks. And many people that leave Silan are disappointed with the missions when they get to the ML.katriell wrote:NO. That wouldn't solve anything, anyway. People still complain about grind and a lack of content in games that are full of quests and raids.
