Where do you find Crash Logs...I never get them I just get freezes or the game just plain disappears

I got DxDiag saying 9.0c now...did an entire System Restore(emachines computer) and reinstalled all the latest drivers from Motherboard to Graphics and DX. Ok Ive just done everything this post has said to do because Im having the same sort of problems. But I went and Uninstalled down to direct x 8.1 and I downloaded the 9.0c installer and it still just rushes to the finish part. It also still says Im running DX 8.1 on DXDIAG.
