ok, still having same problem, i tried totally disconnecting router, turning off firewalls on xp, lowest settings on explorer, uninstalled everything i could find unless im missing something i havent deleted from beta, but dont know what it would be. downloaded directx again, not sure how to take ...

im having the exact same problem, i have turned off all firewalls, set explorer on lowest setting, uninstalled or deleted everything i could find to do with beta and tried installing with cds and get the same thing, not sure what else to try!!
