Re: The Guild Registry of Outposts: Who, What and Where
Heh, pity handovers from inactive guilds so rarely work, because as long as the guild has members left, they'll want to keep the outpost, as long as it has only one last member left, that member will want to keep the outpost 'for the others in case they come back', and as soon as the last member ...

Re: Can you give true answers about Ryzom?
The event-chain that's up right now ("Tears of the Emperor") might lead to more battles between nation though - but who knows? I hope it will be up to the players to choose :) I think this would be unlikely because on Arispotle at least, this event is around a conflict between the Fyros (who are ...

Re: Cats and dyes
Oh come on now, newbies complaining about having to beg is a complaint about the game mechanics, not a complaint about the people who graciously share cats freely, and it needs to stop being interpreted as such. Having to ask for things all the time just isn't fun , now matter how gladly the asked ...

Re: Results of Linux Contest and Mektoubs Races
It's this relation that separates multi boxing from botting. The part of 'botting' that makes it commonly forbidden is where it allows a player-character to take action without needing input from the player, thus giving an unfair advantage over those players who do need to control their character ...

Re: Results of Linux Contest and Mektoubs Races
It's not skill, it's botting. I'll just +1 this part to make this absolutely clear against the re-interpretation of our reason into something that's easily ridiculed. We are not talking about good samaritans subbing alts to help keep the game alive, we are talking about people using third party ...

Re: Results of Linux Contest and Mektoubs Races
Sure, if Winchgate thinks they'll make more money off the group of hardcore players subbing an army of alts, than off the group of casual players only subbing one account each, then you can't fault it as a business decision. It works for some MMOs, EVE comes to mind for example. But I wouldn't want ...

Re: Atysmas 2010 Events
Huh, thanks for adding, I totally missed that.
Makes me wonder if the yubo dolls were also changed into something for Halloween, and I just completely missed that too.

Atysmas 2010 Events
I was going to make this post in the official thread that announced the Atysmas events, then realized there wasn't one. :o Anyways, all info I could gather about the Atysmas events and all screenshots I could make are now posted at http://en.ryzomnomnom.com/wiki/Event:Atysmas_2010 :) Sadly, because ...

Re: The MMORPG Ryzom goes open source!
Sweet, considering everything, it's quite impressive Ryzom still makes the news at all.

Is that event on the German server?läuft bis zum 10. Januar einen In-Game-Wettbewerb, bei dem Spieler, die alle sieben auf der Startinsel Silan versteckten Linux-Artefakte finden

Re: Some Newbie Questions
As said the roaring animals sounds aren't randomly triggered, there is likely a kipee nearby producing them. It is indeed annoying when you have to be in a place near kipees though. Also know that the swimming everywhere is really only in the level 1-50 zone of the Tryker environment. Above level 50 ...
