to my host file did the charm for me, and I managed to download all patches and the Ring, and am finally able to try out the game.

I know how to update the Windows host file, but how do I route the patcher to that one specific server that seems to be working better than others?

And don't forget, if there are issues now, even if the unbelievable will happen and I'll manage to get these 30MB of required patches done (doesn't look like it's going to happen), if this is not fixed then everytime there is an update the same issue will be encountered. I agree - autopatching should not be such an ordeal. For me both optiosn aren't working with Ryzom, i.e. trying to autopatch the previous version or using the Ryzom downloader for a clean installation (in both options the download speed is slow to non-existent or an error message 'patch failed' is ...

Sorry for posting several times, just thought to give the full picture.
Now the downloader is crashing again, so either way there seems to something wrong with that application.

Is Ryzom staff aware and handling this?

Not enough diskspace.
I haved 107GB of free diskspace (just upgraded).

I had downloaded Ryzom several months ago and only installed now (didn't have enough space until I upgraded my harddrive). I managed to get past the 'Error1' message when connecting, by correcting in from within the file, however I was unable to patch properly. No error mesages when patching, but ...
