Re: I came back, I tried, I saw and I cancelled
How many times have you spent 30 minutes + sneaking through PR to a boss, only to find out that someone has simply teleported in and killed it during that time? [...] Neutral TPs are a major problem, denying us access to content simply by being too slow to get there in time. I don't think it can ...

Re: Should Windermeer be revived?
It'd be hell in a handbasket to try and untangle Arispotle's players and guilds into pre-merge state, so that's an unfesable option. However, I can see creating a new shard and calling it Arispotle. Only problems I can see with that is that it would take a while for the server's community to ...

Re: jackoba's tri monthly whinge
The potentially good news with R2 is that the player-created content will most likely feed the per-se global content. You can see this kind of result in other games that gave content-creation tools to users, like UT2k4 or Neverwinter. Player makes cool thing (capes, new vehicle), devs take idea ...

Trouble is, to give a "Town Musician" a constantly changing repertoire of Music would wreack havoc on your download rate, or would make the initial Download waaaay bigger than 1,5 Gig. it is now. Not nessicarily. By using ten or twenty clips of interchangable music phrases for each zone you could ...

Re: On the ending of Ryzom and other stories
This is shaping up to be a fun debate. Hear hear! An intelligent (and fun) debate is a rare gem indeed. I'd love a MMO without XP grind at all... _That_ would be something fantastic, if executed correctly. I'll probobly be spending the next week or so trying to think of a game that could do that ...

Re: On the ending of Ryzom and other stories
Both eve and Ryzom reward Real world time. It so happens that in Ryzom, you are penalized relative to other players who play more often then you. That's certainly a different view than I had of the matter, but it seems to me with my dealings with EVE that although you didn't need to be playing to ...

Re: On the ending of Ryzom and other stories
(Woah, come back to town after a week or two away, and look at what changes...) ... do you see the problem in this logic? Yup. No side can be given an advantage, therefore all sides must remain the same to prevent imbalencing. And quoting SA's Lowtax: "stagnation = death, death = death". In the past ...

Re: Infinity has come to an end....
Well, I'll be moving along with the rest of the guild, but will certainly keep at least one foot in Ryzom until the hailed R2 comes to fruit. Gems like Ryzom are hard to come by, both in terms of player-base, content, visual style, and GM/dev response, and I won't give up on the game (or the players ...
