From Anikin and Calevin

Howdy folks, I hate to actually speak the words, but Anikin and Calevin are gone from Atys. Anikin-player is 10 years old, Calevin-player is 45. Our time here was part of an extended experiment in parenting wherein he and I interact in worlds where I am not stronger, more capable, better informed ...

Re: solo play?

A few thoughts... In General If I were smart, I would stop everything and solo melee until 250 and then do everything else. But I'm not and there we are. I could also have been smart by going for 250 in healing and then raising ele on plants. However, that took too much time experiencing the game ...

Re: Roleplaying in Cities and Villages

I just have to pin a note to this thread to brag on one RPer. During the 2+ months I knew him (including well over a dozen treks), whether in guild chat or private tell, whether chit-chatting, discussing the mechanics of ranged combat or respawning in the middle of the Worst Trek Ever, Beefy never ...

RP/Storytelling contest feeler

I am thinking of putting on an RP/short story-telling contest (and I really mean the "short" in short story) on Cho RoS. How should I best go about seeing how many people are interested? A poll? If it were only RP I would just announce it and take whomever showed up. But the writing component is ...

Re: Kipucker?

I just want to know what the bag is called :D The following should not be read by anyone British and easily offended, or even offendable. . . . . Don't say I didn't warn you. . . . . "Fanny" is used in American casual dialect to refer somewhat politely to the Gluteus Maximus of either sex. It is a ...

Re: Kipucker?

as an aussie.. or an Ozzie, although that sounds like some ex-celebrity from TV land, I can verify that 'rooting' has similar meaning to 'screwing' which is another perfectly inoffensive term in some contexts, and 'bonking' which doesnt have any other meaning so far as I am aware, but just sounds ...

Re: The debate to end all debates!

This would, of course, require that the game keeps track of the number of yubos you've killed, and they will only spare your life if you spared them. I do think it would be wonderful to have a Yubo tribal fame and to have yubos ignore or aggro players as with tribes. "House of Flying Yubos" (the ...

Re: Kipucker?

I wonder if it is as much of a pronunciation issue between the three English speaking regions in question as it is the actual word..... I think so. Before the (so-called, and solipsistically named) Great Vowel Shift the "oo" in root, book, good etc. sounded like rohhht, bohhhk, gohhhd. When what we ...

Re: Aww I thought you'd like to see my baby yubo.

A quick handling tip: as it grows, you want to make sure to stay at least 2-3 of it's body lengths from that thing's back-end. When tapirs, I mean yubos, let fly with the morning cup-a, the range is truly awe inspiring.
