I believe the low population of the game was more from lack of advertising than anything. Other things of course played a role, but if they would instead of spending money trying to change features and just advertised a bit more, the population would grow and they'd have more funds to do the changes ...

If it changes for the worse in all the ways that Boinged described, I probably wouldn't play it. However I'd still probably frequent the forums for as long as the good of the community was there, if it too was taken over by 12-year-olds who can't type or do anything but complain, I'd probably leave ...

I hope very much that it will be brought back up, later if necessary, with at least the exploit bugs fixed. Fixing the rest of the bugs would be nice too, but is optional. There's no reason to completely abandon it, and several reasons to keep it available even in an undeveloped state. Just can't ...

If I could pick two things, they would probably be completing the encyclopedia and fixing up the Ring and make it worthwhile to players. I'd prefer work on the Ring before anything else. I discovered it when it was still on mmorpg.com's top 10 rate games. Was looking for trial to a new game to try and Ryzom looked pretty good so I DLed it, got hooked, and adore the game now and forever.

I really didn't know what to even begin trying after/if Ryzom went down. Glad this thread was started though. I have to say that W.E.L.L. looks amazing.
